ABOUT THE STUDIO

There was a time when artists, writers, musicians, scientists, designers, and philosophers sat at the same tables, smoked the same cigarette, and argued until dawn about what mattered. While the cigarettes may not have been healthy, the rest of it was. Those rooms made culture move. They allowed technology to fit into our lives in new ways. Hartt Studio LLC was founded in the belief that we can make rooms like that again. This time, they might look like an art studio, a venture lab, or a workshop full of prototypes and metaphors.

Hartt Studio stands where art and Design Thinking meet. It works across disciplines because creativity doesn’t respect our industry filing systems or social networking by NAICs code. The studio treats empathy and experimentation as equal tools—one for listening and observing, one for making — and keeps them in circulation between Hartt Venture Design, a consulting practice that helps organizations with human-centered design in all aspects of their project or venture, and JennyHartt.COM, an art house exploring how perception, technology, and humanity tangle together.

This is a place for wayfinding in complex systems: for noticing what’s breaking down, what’s emerging, and what might be rebuilt with care. It welcomes friction, skepticism, and laughter. Why? Because making new things without acknowledging what hurts or what’s absurd is dishonest. We balance strategy with speculation, business with beauty, and design with doubt.
